Niagara Falls, NY

The reliefs are sand casted in black-silver anodized aluminum in a foundry in Niagara Falls, NY.  The records available show 4 reliefs made with dimensions around 110x70cm.

The names John Vassar House (JVH) gave this series are below but only one photographic record survives showing their rich texture:

4. ALUMINUM RELIEF GAMMA (TORSO), 1960

Similar to the reliefs records also show 1957 Cave I and 1957 Cave II casted in anodized metal. The latter are the tests he later elaborated for the Bridges and Arches sculpture starting in 1963.

Other reliefs date 1958 and are called by JVH Cement walls or Steles. Records show seven pieces as shown below however size and owners, if any, are unavailable:
