Cogito, ergo sum (I think therefore I am) was the renown published phrase by René Descartes in the Principles of Philosophy. Within the several Cantilever and Circuit sculptures by John Vassar House (JVH) this sculpture does not address any commemoration nor formula.

JVH’s intention for the sculpture is for it to be a revelation like the sentence itself created by Descartes. The two-step spiraling rings in fact, explode in the (revelation) of the three esoteric towering cubes (SUM).
